MaxiTRANS’ award-winning EziLiner trailer will hit Europe after the Australian manufacturer signed an historic new distribution deal.
The company has awarded Krone (Fahrzeugwerk Bernard KRONE GmbH), one of Europe’s largest trailer manufacturers, the exclusive licence to manufacture the EziLiner for European transport applications.
Krone, a leading innovator in trailer and van design, will incorporate the EziLiner design into its new EcoLiner, which is being launched at the IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover, Germany.
MaxiTRANS says the EziLiner will bring a number of features to the European market, including its ability to provide operational efficiency per load/unload cycle and the OH&S benefits from drivers no longer risking injury as a result of the repetitive nature of opening and closing buckles and straps.
The agreement between Freighter and Krone is believed to be the first of its type for an Australian trailer manufacturer.
The EziLiner, winner of a 2008 Australian International Design Award, eliminates buckles and straps on curtain-sided trailers. Vertical curtain tension is achieved through by pulling a lever to tighten the high tensile cable that runs through a series of specially designed arcs at the bottom of the curtain.
The company also claims potential reductions in fuel consumption are possible as a result of less drag.
The system is patented in Australia with international patents pending.
MaxiTRANS Managing Director Michael Brockhoff says the deal is testament to its commitment to research and development.

Krone’s trailers and vans are sold through a network of sales offices and representatives in 35 European countries.
