Isuzu breaks thousand truck barrier in sales stats

Isuzu has smashed through the 1000 unit per month retail sales barrier in June, the first time this figure has been achieved by any truck manufacturer in this country.

Along the way to recording a total of 1031* unit sales, Isuzu also achieved best ever retail sales figures for the N and F Series, with 514 units and 497 units sold respectively.

In commenting on the sales success, Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) Director and Chief Operating Officer, Phil Taylor, said the results were a glowing endorsement of the company’s expansive new product rollout.

“Prior to launching our all-new N and F Series models late last year, extensive research of the Australian market was conducted to ascertain what owner/drivers, fleet operators and company owners expected from the next generation of Isuzu trucks,” Taylor says.

“After applying many of these recommendations combined with extensive development and testing of the new models for specifically Australian conditions, we are seeing strong market acceptance, which is evident in our sales results.”

According to Taylor the new Isuzus are setting benchmarks in several performance areas, the combination of which makes the new models an extremely attractive buying proposition.

“Considerations such as environmental impact, safety and driver comfort are all at the top of the list insofar as purchase decisions are concerned,” he says.

Isuzu’s N and F Series ranges feature EuroIV-compliant engines which emit up to one sixth less particulate matter (PM) than the standard required by US EPA04-rated competitors.

On the safety front, standard SRS Driver’s airbag on all models, wide availability of passenger airbag, standard ABS brakes and driving aids such as anti-skid regulator (traction control) and hill start aid, all contribute to a safer driving experience.

Cabins in the new models are now also much more comfortable and refined offering noise reduction levels of up to 5dB(A) and improved visibility.

Large door openings allow for easy entry and egress while air conditioning, keyless entry and electric mirrors are standard on all models while a top-of-the-line ISRI 6860 driver’s air suspension seat is standard on all F Series models.

Availability of a multimedia infotainment system providing the latest in audio technology, Bluetooth and iPod compatibility, satellite navigation and reversing cameras adds to the experience.

Product aside, Mr Taylor said Isuzu was also offering customers an ownership experience competitors could not match.

“IAL’s market-leading customer care program, Isuzu Care, is another contributor to our success in providing customers with the widest range of aftersales products and services available,” Taylor says.

“Coupled with the broadest and most professional dealer network in the country, we believe a solid foundation is in place for continued sales success. That said, we are not resting on our laurels or taking our customers for granted, and we will continue to strive for improvements in all areas of our operations.

“It’s this philosophy of constant improvement that has positioned Isuzu as the Australian truck market sales leader for the past 19 consecutive years, and will hold us in good stead to achieve our 20th by year’s end.”
