Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) has recently expanded its diesel marine engine line-up with the addition of two new models to round off the range of six, all of which will be on display at the renowned Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in May.

The turbocharged and intercooled UM6HE1TCX and UM6SD1TCX have joined the marine engine line-up providing additional choice coupled with the legendary reliability Isuzu diesel engines are well known for.

The 7.1 litre, 6 cylinder UM6HE1TCX is rated at 235 kW @ 2,700 RPM, whilst the 9.5 litre UM6SD1TCX offers additional power with an output of 250 kW @ 2,200 RPM. Both these medium duty engines will find favour in applications including commercial fishing boats, charter boat operation or harbour ferry work.

The two new models join the existing line-up of four engines which range from 94 kW, through to a powerful 514 kW, making them well suited to a number of applications including pleasure craft with semi displacement or planing hulls, through to heavier work in fishing trawlers and work boats.

According to newly appointed IAL Industrial and Marine Engines Manager, Dean Whitford, the two new engines sit comfortably in the medium duty operating range and the expansion is a natural progression for the industry leading diesel engine manufacturer.

“Isuzu is well known for its innovative diesel engine technology and has a strong reputation manufacturing powerful and efficient engines. Our marine engine expansion in Australia ensures Isuzu is well placed to better compete across several market segments,” he says.

“After successfully launching the first marine diesel engine into the Australian market in July last year, closely followed by an additional three engines in September, there has been a high enquiry rate.

“We expect this positive response will continue with the display of our increased marine diesel engine line-up at the prestigious Sanctuary Cove Boat Show in May.”
