Catalysts a green way to save fuel

The answers to spiralling fuel prices and increasingly strict emission standards are closer to Australian motorists than they think.

Fuelstar Combustion Catalysts have been helping car, 4WD, bus and truck owners reduce their fuel bills as well as harmful emissions since 1992, and fuel prices are now very much in the spotlight.

Fuelstar guarantees minimum fuel savings of 12 percent which it says, based on fuel prices of nearly $1.60 a litre, is a saving of 22c a litre at a pump price of $1.75 a litre.

With fuel prices set to soar in the near future, it means a substantial saving for consumers.

Alan Major, of Major Auto Technics in WA (an authorised Bosch Service Centre) says: his company has sold and installed more than 1000 Fuelstar units, all with amazing results.

“Customers report increased power and torque, and economy gains of between 12 and 25%,” Major says.

More fleet operators are installing the product to combat their ever-increasing operating costs and several who recently trialed the product and have confirmed fuel savings of 12 to 20percent.

One is Qantas which reported reduced fuel consumption of 17.1percent and a reduction in emissions by 35percent.

Based on the results, Qantas has now started installing Fuelstars on the remainder of its fleet.

Another is the Melbourne and Metropolitan Fire Brigade which undertook emission testing at Vipac Engineering in Melbourne.

The test was conducted under Australian Standards ADR30/01 (Smoke Emission Control for Diesel Vehicles) on their fire truck with a two-stroke Detroit 635VT engine.

Tests were done before and after the installation of a Fuelstar and the results show the Fuelstar reduced the exhaust emissions by 35 percent.

Yet another is the Linfox subsidiary Provincial Freightlines in New Zealand which has reported savings of 12-13 percent for the past four years and continuing.

Fuelstar catalysts are housed in a stainless steel canister which contains metal alloy cones, the main ingredient being tin.

The fuel line is cut, as close to the engine as is convenient, and reconnected to the canister.

As the fuel passes through the canister, minuscule particles of tin are released into the fuel supply and are carried through to the combustion chambers, where they act as a catalyst in the combustion process.

These particles, invisible to the naked eye, measure up to 100 nanometers (0.1 of a micron).

The tin changes the combustion characteristics of the fuel, giving a more complete and more prolonged fuel burn, resulting in improved engine efficiency and performance.

The product lasts 5 years, 500,000km or 12,000 engine hours in the case of an off-road engine, which ever occurs last.

The fuel saving alone normally pays for the unit 10 to 20 times over. Fuelstar backs up its claims with a guaranteed 12 percent fuel savings or your money back.

Fuelstar is Australian-owned and sold all over the world.
