In a storming start to the new year, Kenworth Trucks has dominated the sales of heavy trucks in January and February, with the second month’s figures surprising industry watchers.
Kenworth sold a massive 219 units during February, as many as closest rival Western Star sold in two months.

Andrew Hadjikakou, Director of Sales and Marketing for PACCAR Australia, says the growth has been across the board, wioth no single market out-performing the others, and he believes so long as the Australian economy remains bouyant, the truck market will continue to expand.

With a goal of producing the ‘world’s best truck’, Hadjikakou says PACCAR is constantly evaluating customer needs, to ensure they are being met.

“To meet these needs we aim to world’s best manufacturer in terms of quality, productivity, flexibility and customer responsiveness, which requries significant and ongoing investment, product and process refinement; a journey that, with the support of our customers adn our strategic partners, our dealers and suppliers, we will continue at PACCAR.”

With every truck sold and delivered in 2008 all compliant with both ADR 80/02 and ADR83, Hadjikakou says the decision to carry out ‘millions’ of testing ilometres in 2007 made the transition ‘seamless’ for customers.

“Their ongoing support suggests that they appreciate the peace of mind this approach has provided, helping them to deliver for their customers.”

Kenworth’s ability to offer customers a choice of the two best brands of diesel engines in the world is certainly a customer benefit, Hadjikakou says.
