Isuzu brings N, F Series plus Giga range to Trucks in Action

Isuzu Trucks will display a broad selection of the all-new 2008 N and F Series models, and preview the soon-to-be-released

Isuzu Trucks will display a broad selection of the all-new 2008 N and F Series models, and preview the soon-to-be-released enhanced heavy market Giga range, at this year’s 26th Trucks in Action truck and civil works expo.

Fourteen Isuzu trucks will be on static display, and an additional selection of vehicles spanning the N, F and Giga Series ranges will be available for test drives around the Lardnar Park facility.

In one of the largest displays of the show, six N Series models will be on view, ranging from the NLR 200, featuring Automated Manual Transmission (AMT), through to the class-leading NQR 450.

The medium duty F Series will also be well represented, with six display models including the FRR 500 AMT, FTR 900 and the FVZ 1400 Auto. Capping off the static display will be a Giga CXZ and EXY models.

The new Isuzu trucks are rated to stringent Euro4 emissions standards, making them the ‘cleanest’ of all conventional diesel engines among the high volume Japanese competitor manufacturers which are rated to less stringent USEPA04 levels.

Whilst both standards meet the new ADR80/02 emissions regulations which came into effect as of January 1, the all-new Isuzu line-up emits up to six times less particulate matter than the standard met by its competitors.

Isuzu has employed a variety of engine technologies to reach the stringent Euro4 emissions level, including variable geometry turbocharging, air-to-air intercooling, high-pressure common rail injection, Advanced Cooled EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) systems, and most notably, Diesel Particulate Diffuser (DPD) exhaust after treatment.

Although the DPD has been available in Japan since 2004, this is the first time Isuzu has specified it for the Australian market, and Isuzu is the only Japanese manufacturer currently offering this technology (hybrids excluded).

Isuzu Australia’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Phil Taylor, is confident the new range will make a big impression at the show.

“Isuzu has developed a new series of engines that deliver notable gains in power and torque, whilst comfortably meeting the new emissions regulations,” he says.

“These new engines offer an excellent combination of power, torque and efficiency while setting a new benchmark in diesel exhaust emissions, particularly in relation to harmful particulate matter.

“Drivers will also be impressed with how quiet and comfortable it is inside the cab. We’ve reduced noise levels by up to five decibels, resulting in one of the quietest cabs on the road”.

Safety is also paramount in the new ranges with Driver’s SRS Airbag a standard feature in all N and F Series models, and passenger airbag an option on several N Series models.

All models in the N and F Series also come standard with ABS brakes, while driving aids including ASR (anti-skid regulator), and HSA (hill start aid) are widely available depending on the model selected.
