Perth Markets Group Limited (PMGL) has announced the completion of a new multi-tenant cold storage warehouse at its 51ha Canning Vale site.

The facility, known as S2, is a purpose-built standalone facility spanning over 3500sqm and features two-storey internal offices, 9.1m high cool rooms with motion sensor high-performance rapid doors and recessed rear loading docks with dock levellers, restraints and shelters.

S2 also features full drive-around road circulation, and is part of PMGL’s ongoing commitment in infrastructure to support WA’s growers, wholesalers and fresh food retailers. Perth Markets links wholesalers, retailers and growers to the fresh food supply chain.

PMGL Chief Property Officer Shaun Atkins says the new build is an important addition to the company’s ability to service its tenants and customers.

“These warehouses are incredibly important to the growth and success of our tenants – it gives them the opportunity to consolidate their site operations, deliver efficiencies and underpin continued expansion in the future,” Atkins says.

Over 250,000 tonnes of produce traded through Perth Markets in the 2024 financial year.

PMGL CEO Scott Gibson says it is important to continue to invest in infrastructure that will help meet the state’s fresh produce supply chain.

“As Western Australia’s only fresh food wholesale market, it is integral we continuously grow and deliver infrastructure that supports, strengthens, and meets the demands of the fresh produce supply chain,” Gibson says.

An announcement on PMGL’s social media channels says S2 is now fully leased, while construction of the site was completed by PS Structures Pty Ltd.
