PEKI makes TNT green

New Pekie body panels enhance vehicle efficiency while providing strong damage resistence and performace

While there was plenty of understandable hype over the purchase of 10 Hino Hybrid trucks by TNT Express earlier this year, the all-important choice of bodies was overlooked.

As it turns out the pantechs fitted to the low-emission trucks are as green as the engines, thanks to research and development by Peki.

The Peki Lite ultra light weight body enhances the efficiency of each vehicle and optimises the operational and environmental objectives set by TNT.

Michael Jenkins, Peki National Sales Manager, congratulated TNT for its leadership role as the first transport organisation to introduce hybrid trucks into their fleet.

“Peki is particularly pleased to have been able to provide a body solution that not only meets TNT’s primary transport objective and specification, but will also contribute to their goal of reducing CO2 emissions, ” says Jenkins.

The Peki Lite body incorporates revolutionary and innovative lightweight honeycomb core polypropylene body panels that provide high strength and performance and are resistant to damage.

Weighing in at over 60 percent less than a conventional FRP truck body, Peki Lite bodies provide minimum body tare and improved fuel efficiency without compromising on durability.

Peki Lite body panels are slightly translucent, providing natural light inside the van body, thus making loading/unloading easier and safer.
