Peacock Brothers offers new freezer proof tags to help frozen goods transporters
November 5, 2009
Melbourne based business solutions provider Peacock Brothers has announced the addition of the UPM Raflatac Freezer proof Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags to its product list.
The new tags can operate reliably down to a temperature of minus 40 degrees and will assist frozen good transporters greatly, Peacock says.
“The tags can be read through a covering of frost, humid air and wet surfaces such as packaging and ice and complies with all of the GS1 EPC Global standards,” a spokesperson for Peacock says.
“Until recently RFID tags within a freezer environment have been unreliable and impractical due to the tag freezing and frost and ice reducing the read range.
This latest RFID tag from UPM Raflatac is already being used overseas in frozen goods distribution centres.
The Dogbone tag design offers up to 240-bit of electronic precollation (EPC) memory as well as an additional 64-bit locked tag identifier code and 32-bit serial number and are available immediately.
