Pacific National has concluded the search for a new CEO to succeed Paul Scurrah, and has announced Linx Cargo Care Group CEO Brett Grehan has been appointed to the position.

Pacific National is an Australian leader in private rail freight operations. It has over 3400 employees at over 70 locations and runs 700 weekly train services running 24/7, every day of the year.

“Independent Chair Catherine Livingstone says Grehan’s recent achievements with Linx Cargo Care Group will translate well to his new role leading Pacific National.

“Brett’s leadership, experiences, and vision are aligned to Pacific National’s values and approach and he is very well positioned to lead Pacific National to continue to deliver for our people, customers and shareholders,” Livingstone says.

Grehan will officially commence his new role with Pacific National on Monday, 11 November 2024, with Scurrah to remain available to Grehan and the board in an advisory capacity.

Livingstone thanked Scurrah for his service to the company over his tenure as CEO.

“On behalf of the Board, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to Paul for his leadership and dedication over the past four years and wish him well for the next stage in his career,” Livingstone said.

“Under Paul’s guidance our business has evolved strongly, and he should be particularly proud of ushering in the ‘Pacific National Approach’ and values, as well as his commitment to customer service and safety as a top priority.”

Grehan says he is looking forward to helping lead a company that is critical to Australia’s wider supply chain.

“It is a privilege to join the team and to have the opportunity to contribute to decarbonising the Australian supply chain, to safely delivering for our customers, and to support the broader Australian communities in which we operate.”
