NTI snaps up Success Formula for safety coaching

NZ acquisition to boosts domestic transport business support effort

Transport and logistics insurer NTI has launched a new safety culture and leadership coaching program after picking up specialist New Zealand consultancy Success Formula.

NTI’s Traction Program assesses how a company is performing across 15 different areas, including safety culture, risk management and operational processes, and provides actionable strategies for improvement.

“Our customers engaged strongly with the opportunities and areas for improvement across leadership, communication and safety processes identified by Traction,” NTI chief sustainability officer Christopher Hogarty says.

“It is widely acknowledged that strong cultures deliver strong results; be it to the bottom line, employee engagement, customer satisfaction, and safety.

“Safety is vital to every business, especially in the increasingly regulated and high-risk transport, heavy equipment and logistics industries.

“People and behaviour are what will drive risk culture and Traction focuses on feedback from employees, customers, and suppliers to provide practical advice business leaders.

“That might include staff workshops, strategy sessions and leadership training.”

With many companies undergoing change as a result of Covid-19, now is seen as the perfect time to take a deeper look at operations and culture.

“The pandemic has had a huge impact on the transport and logistics industries, with many companies introducing new processes and procedures,” he said. “Some operators have changed freight task due to demand factors, or have had to manage a change in the size or structure of their businesses.

“Others are rolling out new technologies and, of course, there are always mergers and consolidation occurring in the broader market.

“We’re offering a free Business Health Check to help business leaders navigate these challenging times as we continually strive for a robust, successful and safer transport industry,” Hogarty says
