NSW Port Authority board appointment

Kris Neill has been appointed to the NSW Port Authority board as one of three announcements made by the state treasurer

The NSW Treasurer and Minister for Finance has announced a trio of new direct board appointments for the state’s publicly owned corporations, with a new NSW Port Authority appointment among the announcements.

Kris Neill has been appointed to the board by the shareholder ministers. Neill has extensive governance expertise across a range of commercial and government organisations.

She is the former chair of Women’s Community Shelters, a former Macquarie Group Executive Director and Chief of Staff to former NSW Premier Bob Carr, who held office between 1995 and 2005.

Neill was also interim chief of staff to current state minister Courtney Houssos.

It is expected Neill will help the Port Authority maximise opportunities presented by the Freight Reform Policy Program and the delivery of state infrastructure projects.

The announcement of Neill’s appointment came alongside the appointment of Niall Blair as a Director at Sydney Water an Ashley Mason as Chair of Landcom.
