NSWs Oxley Highway to close from today

NatRoad says the freight route will be closed until Sunday to clear debris from a landslip

The Oxley Highway in New South Wales will be closed for six days, starting from today as essential works begin.

The National Road Transport Association (NatRoad) says the freight route will be closed between Knodingbul and Forbes River roads starting from today until 5PM on Sunday July 24.

If weather permits, the essential works will form part of the continued major restoration of the Oxley Highway at Mount Seaview to restore the road to its pre-2021 flood condition.

NatRoad says it needs to remove a significant amount of landslide debris from a landslip site before it can deteriorate, as closing the road is the safest option to complete the works.

NatRoad is advising drivers to plan an alternative route through Waterfall Way or the New England Highway if the trip occurs during the closure period.
