NSW trucking operators can now add new trailers to their fleets without having to pay stamp duty

Trucking operators in New South Wales can now add new trailers to their fleets without having to pay stamp duty.
The State Revenue Legislation Further Amendment Bill passed into law on October 29, exempting operators from paying stamp duty on new trailers.
The legislation brings the state into line with other jurisdictions to encourage operators to buy and register trailers in NSW.
Treasurer Mike Baird says stamp duty on new trailers encourages NSW trucking operators to buy and register their vehicles interstate.
All sides of politics backed the reform, despite the Greens arguing for an increase in stamp duty.
