NSW Minister for Transport resigns

Jo Haylen has resigned as the NSW Minister for Transport. Roads Minister John Graham will take over the portfolio on an interim basis

NSW freight operators are waiting to find out who will take over as the state’s minister for Transport in a permanent capacity following former incumbent Jo Haylen’s resignation from the position.

Haylen has resigned amid revelations surrounding her use of ministerial drivers. She says she “did not break the rules” but “acknowledges that that’s not the only test here”.

Premier Chris Minns has committed to altering the rules regarding the use of drivers in the wake of Haylen’s resignation.

He also says Minister for Roads John Graham will take over the portfolio on an interim basis.

Graham is currently overseeing the state’s independent road tolling review as part of his role as Minister for Roads

Haylen held the position from March 2023, with her resignation announced on Tuesday February 4, 2025.

She appointed Josh Murray as Secretary for Transport for NSW in 2023.
