NSW freight routes update

TfNSW has issued another flooding update of the state’s key freight routes

With wild weather continuing to impact some of New South Wales’ most popular freight routes, Transport for NSW (TfNSW) has released another freight update.

Further to updates earlier in the week where all but one major freight way was closed, TfNSW has listed which roads are currently affected by flooding.

These include the Pacific Highway to West Ballina, where northbound lanes remain open but only one land southbound is open to freight traffic.

The Summerland Way is experiencing closures and delays between Casino and Grafton, with all lanes being closed yesterday between Leeville and Myrtle Creek, with lanes expected to start reopening today.

Summerland Way is also impacted between Casino and Kyogle, with the road closed at Reynolds Creek (Cedar Point) until today when crews expected it to reopen.

Furthermore, the Bruxner Highway in Uralba is now open, meaning heavy vehicles can now access Lismore from the east.

But the Bruxner Highway unfortunately remains closed between Casino and Lismore for those looking to travel through that freight route.

TfNSW and the Queensland Transport Association (QTA) reminds all transport drivers and freight operators to take extra care when travelling in these conditions and on unfamiliar routes, especially with the risk of land slips and falling trees.

Traffic control and emergency crews are out on these freight routes currently directing traffic.
