Submissions are open for the 2012 Australian Supply Chain and Logistics Awards

Transport and logistics go-getters will soon have their time to shine, with submissions now open for the 2012 Australian Supply Chain & Logistics Awards.
Recognising individuals and companies for more than fifty years, the awards, hosted by the Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Australia (SCLAA), are the longest running national awards program in the supply chain, logistics and transport industry.
Submissions oped early this month, with winners in each award category to be recognised during a gala dinner on November 8 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, Grey Street, South Bank, Queensland.
The 2012 award categories include:
2012 ASCL Future Leaders Award
The Future Leaders Award recognises young professionals hoping to
build careers in the transport, supply chain and logistics industry. A panel of judges will interview finalists in the week leading up to the awards.
2012 ASCL Storage and Handling of Materials Award
The Storage and Handling of Materials Award recognises achievements in the techniques and technology of materials storage and handling at any stage of the Supply Chain. Technology covers equipment and design techniques, including facilities design, and associated information and control systems.
2012 ASCL Training, Education and Development Award
The Training, Education and Development Award will be presented to the company or institution that best demonstrates a significant achievement in areas such as recruitment process, training, HR Systems, formal education and development programs, which promote and are relevant to the industry.
2012 ASCL Information Management Award
The Information Management Award goes to the business best demonstrating a significant achievement in the application of information technology within its supply chain.
2012 ASCL Manufacturing Logistics Award
The Manufacturing Logistics Award recognises significant achievement within the manufacturing sector, regarding the integration of manufacturing and the supply chain from raw material procurement through to customer delivery.
2012 ASCL Environmental Excellence Award
The Environmental Excellence Award recognises corporate leadership contributing to the solution of environmental sustainability in the industry.
2012 ASCL Industry Excellence Award
The Industry Excellence Award is the most prestigious award and recognises and acknowledges outstanding achievements and contribution by an individual in the industry. SCLAA says the judges will be looking for individuals who have demonstrated vision and leadership, show innovation, and are not afraid to take risks.
2012 ASCL Supply Chain Management Award
The Supply Chain Management Award acknowledges an organisation’s outstanding achievement in managing supply chain integration. This can include functional integration in an organisational supply chain or trading partnerships and alliances.
