Nominations open for Future Leaders’ Forum

The ATA and Daimler Truck have opened nominations for the eighth Future Leaders’ Forum to help promote trucking’s next generation of leaders

The Australian Trucking Association and Daimler Truck have officially opened nomination for the 2025 Daimler Truck Future Leaders’ Forum (FLF).

The FLF is a development program targeted at up-and-coming future leaders of the trucking industry. 2025 will be the eighth iteration of the event.

Over 50 individuals who have graduated through the program have gone on to secure leadership roles at ATA member associations and other industry bodies.

ATA Chair Mark Parry says programs like the FLF are crucial to allow the industry to evolve in the face of current and emerging challenges.

“Like many Australian industries, the trucking industry is facing disruption and innovation as technology changes the way we do business, work and live,” Parry says.

“Together with Daimler, we are looking for the next generation of leaders.”

The FLF will be held in Canberra in February 2025, with participants set to take part in intensive workshops and collaborate to develop industry advocacy projects that will be presented at the ATA’s Trucking Australia 2025 conference in April.

The program recently won the LearnX Platinum Award for Best Learning and Talent Development in the industry specific Leadership Development category.

President and CEO at Daimler Truck Australia Daniel Whitehead says the company is looking forward to continuing to promote talented young leaders in the trucking sector.

“The FLF has helped nurture some wonderfully talented young people in the road freight industry since its inception in 2018,” Whitehead says.

“Daimler Truck is excited to continue backing this fantastic initiative that helps provide a clearer pathway for future leaders of this vital industry.”

Nominations will only be accepted via ATA member associations or TruckSafe, with the closing date for nominations set for January 17, 2025.
