Nominations have now opened for an award to recognise technical and maintenance excellence in the workshop.
The Craig Roseneder Award, which will be presented at the 2012 Technical and Maintenance Conference, celebrates the men and women who work behind the scenes in the trucking industry’s workshops.
The winner of this year’s award will receive a trip to the American Trucking Association’s Technology and Maintenance Council annual meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition.
The prize includes return airfares, $1,500 spending money and complimentary registration to the 2013 Technical and Maintenance Conference.
DirectHaul Fleet Manager Brian Murphy won the award last year. He was recognised for introducing procedures such as vehicle fault reporting, isolation lockouts and emergency management of tanker rollovers.
“There are a lot of highly regarded and innovative people in the industry who have won this award in the past, and to be listed with them is quite an honour,” Murphy says.
Australian Trucking Association (ATA) CEO Stuart St Clair says nominees need to have at least five years of experience in their field, a high level of skill and dedication to the trucking industry.
“The previous winners of this prestigious award include Graham Nash from Mountain Industries, Merv Rowlands from Boral Transport and Tony Rawson from the Brisbane City Council,” St Clair says.
