Operators can raise questions regarding the upcoming heavy vehicle inspection survey
The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) will host an online seminar this month to help operators and drivers understand how the upcoming National Roadworthy Baseline Survey (NRBS) will affect them.
The webinar will be held on July 26 from 2-3pm (AEST).
The NHVR says a link to the web seminar will be made available in the coming days.
Following its announcement in April, the regulator published a list of frequently asked questions (FAQ) surrounding the survey.
The online seminar aims to move a step further and allow transport operators and other industry members to interact directly with NHVR officials to understand the scope and impact of the survey on their daily operations.
NRBS involves an inspection of close to 9,000 heavy vehicles including rigid, articulated, B-doubles, road trains, buses and plant equipment, with an aim to better understand the current condition of the Australian heavy vehicle fleet.
Authorised officers across all states and territories will inspect vehicles at depots and roadside checkpoints based on the National Heavy Vehicle Inspection Manual Version 2.1, which came into effect earlier this month.
The NHVR states the data from the survey will be used to find ways to improve the safety of the heavy vehicle fleet.
