New VicRoads centre to boost quality of service

VicRoads's new Melbourne customer service centre will open its doors next week.

VicRoads’s new customer service centre in Melbourne’s east is set to make life easier for the transport industry to access services.

Located in Heatherton on Corporate Drive, the centre will open next Monday.

VicRoads CEO John Merritt says the new branch will lead the way in how VicRoads delivers its front line customer service.

It replaces VicRoads’s old centre in Oakleigh South.

“Customers who have visited the Oakleigh South centre over the years will be pleasantly surprised by the enhanced layout aimed at providing customers with a more welcoming and functional environment. It is the first of its kind for VicRoads,” Merritt says.

Staff from the Oakleigh South branch will relocate to the new office, which has 28 customer service counters and 80 visitor car parks.

“Other benefits include a clear triage at the building entrance and a one-stop-shop at the counters, minimising the need for customers to move around the office building. It is more of a seamless customer service experience.”

The office will provide more than 270,000 vehicle registration and licencing transactions annually, including 14,000 driving tests.
