Queensland’s state government has launched a new portal to help local manufacturers connect with the state’s major projects and other manufacturers in the supply chain.
The AI-powered portal – called Supply Queensland – will improve supply chain collaboration and match manufacturers with relevant opportunities based on their products and workforce capabilities, will be free to register to.
It is available for Queensland-based manufacturers and will allow them to identify possible supply chain partners or major projects and explore partnerships with other organisations.
Minister for Regional Development and Manufacturing Glenn Butcher says the new portal will allow local businesses at all levels of the supply chain to benefit from the state’s current and upcoming projects.
“This helps links our local manufacturers with upcoming projects and seize the opportunities here in Queensland,” Butcher says.
“We are inviting all Queensland manufacturers to register on the portal and begin exploring the potential opportunities. The Miles Government is committed to ensuring local businesses benefit from the many projects and opportunities happening now and on the horizon in Queensland, and this portal is vital to that.
“We know manufacturers need to be front and centre to supply into major projects to support opportunities.”
The portal has been developed by the Queensland government and Manufacturing Skills Queensland and is powered by BenchOn.
It was launched by Minister Butcher at the Manufacturing Parliamentary Showcase as part of Manufacturing Month.
More information on the portal is available here.
