Penske Australia & New Zealand has appointed Kevin Smith as the General Manager for its New Zealand business, he will step into the role effective immediately.
Smith has replaced previous General Manager Brian Wilson in the role and will oversee all branch operations across a variety of industries including commercial vehicles, rail, mining, defence, marine, energy solutions and more.
He says the investment Penske has been making into its New Zealand operations makes it an exciting time to join the company.
“Penske has invested heavy in New Zealand in recent years, opening a brand-new facility in Christchurch and Tauranga to complement the existing Auckland branch,” Smith says.
“Along with a stable of innovative and well-proven products and brands, the team at Penske is highly experienced and engaged.
“It’s exciting to join an organisation that is so passionate about its customers and services.
“These are all vital ingredients for continuing to build a successful business that delivers outstanding customer outcomes.”
Managing Director of Penske Australia & New Zealand Hamish Christie-Johnson says the appointment of Smith will make the most of his knowledge of the company’s New Zealand customer-needs.
“It’s wonderful to have Kevin join the Penske team, given his extensive leadership and transport industry experience,” Christie-Johnson says.
“While we have an overarching business strategy for ANZ, our New Zealand customers have specific requirements that Kevin keenly understands.
“Kevin is hitting the ground running, meeting with our team across Australia and New Zealand and also meeting with key customers to learn more about their operations and needs.
“And, on behalf of Penske, I’d like to thank Brian Wilson, our previous General Manager of Penske New Zealand, for his service and wish him well in the future.
