Christine Bartlett brought a vast resume of CEO and executive roles with her on March 2, 2026, as she stepped into new shoes as a non-executive director and Chair of the Board of NSW Ports.
Bartlett is the current Chair of the Committee for Economic Development Australia (CEDA) and has significant Director and Chair experience on the boards of both listed and private companies in Australia.
Before becoming a company director, Bartlett held CEO and senior executive roles at IBM, National Australia Bank and Jones Lang LaSalle that included regional and global responsibilities based in Australia, the USA and Japan.
She replaces Patricia McKenzie on the Board of NSW Ports who held the position of Chair for the past six years.
In a statement announcing the start of Bartlett’s term, the Board said: “The Board of NSW Ports would like to welcome Christine to the role of Chair.
“We look forward to Christine continuing the stewardship of the organisation in its support of Australia’s maritime trade needs and to sustainably cater for NSW’s growing freight task.
“The Board of NSW Ports would also like to thank Patricia for her outstanding leadership and expert guidance during her time as Chair.
“Under Patricia’s tenure, NSW launched its 40 Year Master Plan to map out the actions and priorities needed to sustainably cater for trade through Port Botany and Port Kembla and navigated the business and operational disruptions brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.”
Bartlett says she is looking forward to playing a part in shaping the future of Port Botany and Port Kembla and supporting the role ports have in contributing to the economic growth of NSW.
“I also look forward to engaging with customers, stakeholders and industry representatives to hear from them about their priorities and to ensure ongoing communication and collaboration to deliver efficient and sustainable supply chains,” she says.
