Transport company Followmont Transport has revealed its latest upgrades to its Townsville depot in Queensland.
The site, located at 10 Everett St, Bohle, has seen significant upgrades this year to accommodate future growth and enhance operational capabilities.
As part of the upgrades, Followmont has added a 3,000sqm warehouse to the site and a 1,500sqm all-weather breezeway.
Followmont managing director and CEO Mark Tobin says the expansion is crucial for the business’ continued growth in Queensland and NSW providing dedicated third party logistics (3PL) storage.
“Our investment in Townsville reflects our long-term vision and commitment to providing our customers with unmatched service,” Tobin says.
“This expansion, coupled with the purchase of 38 Everett St, gives us the capacity we need to meet the demands of our customers while also contributing positively to the local community.
“Our property strategy has always been a pillar of our success.
“Working closely with Bootooloo Property has given us the flexibility to adapt and grow our business while maintaining control over our assets.”
The company’s carefully managed real estate portfolio plays a pivotal role in driving its business strategy, ensuring it can meet future demand while maximising returns.
The expansion aims to provide increased capacity for 3PL operations and customer storage needs, aligning with the company’s goal of creating a sustainable business.
Bootooloo Holdings group property, facilities and project manager Cassie Eivers led the project and says she’s excited about the developments.
“The completion of this project not only provides the additional space Followmont needs, but also ensures that the local team has the infrastructure required to continue delivering for their customers,” Eivers says.
Townsville is a key hub in Followmont’s network, and this extension and land purchase positions the company for future growth and long-term opportunities.
The recent expansion, now fully operational, marks another significant milestone in Followmont’s ongoing investment in its property portfolio, further strengthening its ability to provide industry leading solutions across Queensland and New South Wales.
