New call for HVSI funding applications

The NHVR issued a reminder that applications for the latest round of HVSI funding will close on February 17th

The NHVR has put out a fresh call for applicants pursuing funding from the tenth round of the Heavy Vehicle Safety Initiative program, which aims to support projects that can deliver tangible improvements to heavy vehicle safety.

Over $41 million has been invested by the federal government into the program since its launch in 2016, which has supported a total of 169 projects.

Applications for Round 10 funding will close on February 17, 2025, and will support initiatives with the potential to drive long-term change in innovation and technology, safety awareness, and evidence-based material development.

A total of 16 projects were funded in the ninth round of funding, from applicants as varied as Deakin University and NatRoad to St John Ambulance Australia and GM Cartage and Contracting.

“This is an opportunity for industry to pave the way forward and create the change it wishes to see in the heavy vehicle industry,” the regulator says.

“Those with projects that address safer drivers, safer vehicles and safer road use are encouraged to apply for the grants program.”
