Navman Wireless updates fleet management solution

New Director software offers insights into driver behaviour and vehicle maintenance

Fleet management solution provider Navman Wireless has launched Director, a new GPS software platform for real-time asset tracking.

Stemming from a collaboration with sister-company Teletrac, Navman Wireless says its software provides a portal for fleet managers to gain efficient management habits and insights into the day-today operating costs of their business.

“Our goal is to empower customers with actionable data in an easy-to-use platform,” Navman Wireless vice president Asia Pacific Ian Daniel says.

“Its scalable features go beyond fleet tracking to include everything from analysing driver behaviour, to receiving instant alerts, robust safety reporting and custom geo-fences.”

Director includes an interactive mapping solution, to show job sites and vehicle locations; messaging capabilities; customised workflow forms; user alerts, such as geo-fencing; vehicle maintenance information, covering inspection and service schedules; and search functionality.

Based on the company’s predecessor GPS solution, OnlineAVL2, Director also adds driver behaviour analysis to the mix, showing real-time results from each vehicle.

The solution provides managers with driver scorecards and the option to monitor and replay unsafe driving events that occur on the road, such as speeding and harsh braking.

The company says advances to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platform, on which Navman Wireless host its solution, means it is now able to expand its offering to meet the needs of fleets of varying size, from local service to long haul.
