NatRoad has called on the NSW government to match Opposition promises and provide toll relief for truck drivers
The National Road Transport Association (NatRoad) has called on the New South Wales state government to match the Opposition’s recent proposal to place a toll cap for heavy vehicle drivers on Sydney motorways.
NatRoad wants the government to match an Opposition promise to cut tolls for heavy vehicles on two Sydney motorways.
The NSW Labor party promised earlier this week that trucks using the M5 East and M8 will pay a third less for two years if it wins the March election.
The changes would be introduced alongside broader relief announced on Sunday that caps weekly tolls at $60 for motorists.

“We’d like to see the concession made on all toll roads but any relief is welcome,” NatRoad CEO Warren Clark says.
“We’re calling on the NSW government to at least match this and show it’s serious about tolling reform.
“Both government and Opposition need to address the underlying problem of high tolls by introducing rebates or incentives that encourage trucks to use them, especially in off-peak periods.”
