NatRoad releases curfew survey results

NatRoad research suggests citizens want to see curfews removed and the environment prioritised

In a recent study conducted by the National Road Transport Association (NatRoad), Australian citizens were found to prioritise the environment over fast delivery times.

This was one of many take-outs from NatRoad’s national research on public attitudes to road transport that it carried out earlier this year.

The results show metropolitan residents in Australia are most willing to accept trade-offs in waiting for goods if it resulted in improvements to the environment.

Almost seven-in-ten Australians (68 per cent) say they would wait longer for goods, accept less variety or pay more if it resulted in improvements to the environment.

In the study, metropolitan residents were found to be more likely of accepting trade-offs (71 per cent) than regional residents (62 per cent).

Of the 58 per cent of Australians who are aware of night and morning delivery curfews, around 60 per cent would support the removal of curfews if they improved the movements of goods.
