NatRoad provides NSW road flooding update

NatRoad has issued an update on road closures in regional NSW due to recent flooding

The National Road Transport Association (NatRoad) says key freight routes in regional New South Wales have begun to open after being affected by flooding.

NatRoad says the Kamilaroi Highway has reopened in both directions between Gunnedah and Boggabri after being closed due to flooding.

However, another section of the Kamilaroi Highway remains closed further north through Wee Waa.

The highway is closed in both directions between Spring Plains Road west of Narrabri and Doreen Lane at Merah North.

NatRoad says motorists are advised to avoid the area and never drive through floodwaters.

As well, in the state’s Central West, Lachlan Valley Way remains closed between the Newell Highway south of Forbes and Driftway Road at Jemalong.

In addition to state managed roads, some local roads managed by councils may also be affected.
