NatRoad annual survey unveils number one transport issue

NatRoad members have lifted the lid on the biggest issue facing the Australian transport industry currently

The results of the Annual National Road Transport Association (NatRoad) Member Survey are in as members reflect on the biggest issues facing the industry.

NatRoad says the results show both the difficult times the industry is having and the validation of the value of NatRoad membership.

The survey says fuel costs are the number-one concern, with 93% per cent of survey respondents listing the issue, followed by driver shortages (45 per cent), COVID-19 compliance, tolls (30 per cent), wages and related costs (28 per cent) and AdBlue supplies (18 per cent).

NatRoad says 83 per cent of members say they have a COVID-Safe plan in place.

Almost three-quarters used NatRoad email bulletins to keep up with changes in regulations, and 85 per cent of them asked NatRoad to keep that service in place.

Of the businesses that put a COVID-Safe plan in place, 31 per cent used the NatRoad template and 92 per cent of members who asked a NatRoad adviser for help found the information provided useful.

NatRoad says it membership brings a wide range of benefits. The Ampol fuel discount was rated the top-ranked member benefit followed by NatRoad’s advisory service, its e-mail newsletter, the COVID bulletins and its website.

Regarding the overall value of being a part of NatRoad, 80 per cent of survey respondents say they would recommend membership to a friend.
