National Trucking Industry Awards winners announced

A trio of awards were handed out to members of Australia’s transport industry last night as the Australian Trucking Association celebrated the end of its Technical Maintenance Conference in Melbourne in style.

Divall’s Earthmoving and Bulk Haulage of Goulburn, Scott Gardiner of Australia Post and heavy vehicle engineer Chris Loose were winners on the night of three key industry awards.

Divall’s work in the training space earned it the 2025 National Training Excellence Award, recognising transport operators that have a strong and demonstrated commitment to training and development, “thereby improving safety for all”.

The company will receive a $7000 prize package to be used towards staff training initiatives or a business services package with a training consultancy.

Australia Post’s Scott Gardiner was named as the winner of the 2025 Craig Roseneder Award which recognises technical and maintenance excellence in the trucking industry’s workshops.

Gardiner will receive a prize trip to attend the 2026 US Technology and Maintenance Council Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition in Nashville, Tennessee. The prize includes full conference registration, return airfares, accommodation and $1,500 spending money.

The prize also includes complimentary registration to the 2026 Australian Trucking Association Technology and Maintenance Conference.

Heavy vehicle engineer and industry advocate Chris Loose was named as the winner of the 2025 Castrol Industry Achievement Award.

Chris held senior roles at Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner before working for the ATA and the Truck Industry Council.

The Castrol Industry Achievement Award honours technical innovation and accomplishments in the Australian trucking sector.

Other finalists named on the night were Stef’s Transport from Millicent, South Australia and Pilbara Heavy Haulage Girls Group from Wonthella in Western Australia for the 2025 National Training Excellence Awards, and Chris Montgomery of CMV Truck and Bus and Thomas Kenny of Multiquip in the Craig Rosender Award.

The awards were held at the San Remo Ballroom in Carlton North with a 1920s themed dinner coinciding with the end of the two-day annual Technical Maintenance Conference.
