As LED bulbs grow in popularity as replacements for incandescent bulbs, Narva introduces load resistors to manage reduced current draw

With LED bulbs growing in popularity with transport operators as replacements for incandescent bulbs in brake and indicator lamp assemblies, lighting supplier Narva has introduced load resistors to manage the reduced current draw.
The low current draw of LEDs can often cause problems related to load sensitive flashers resulting in system warning messages and rapid indicator flash patterns.
Problems can also be evident with ABS brakes and braking when cruise control is activated as the electronic control mechanism may not recognise when the brakes have been applied.
The Narva load resistors are designed to draw the same current as a 21W incandescent globe to overcome problems arising from replacing an incandescent globe with low current draw LEDs.
Each resistor is supplied with an aluminium heat sink, two wire tap connectors and 300mm of cable at each end, and is available in either 12V or 24V.
