New Zealand-based logistics company MOVE Logistics Group has appointed Paul Millward as its permanent Chief Executive Officer, with the appointment coming into effect on February 28, 2025.
The appointment of Millward to the permanent position has come following six months of service in an interim CEO capacity following the resignation of former CEO Craig Evans from October 24.
MOVE offers door-to-door, linehaul and PUD services from its 17 branches across New Zealand, and offers FTL, LTL, FCL and specialised freight solutions.
It also possesses over 140,000 sqm of storage across New Zealand and offers international ocean freight services.
It is listed on the Australian stock exchange.
“In the past six months as interim CEO, Paul has demonstrated his passion for MOVE alongside strong leadership, and is making good progress on the transformation programme and the shift to a high performance culture,” MOVE Chair Julia Raue says.
“His appointment reflects the board’s confidence in his ability to lead the organisation in achieving transformational change and delivering value to stakeholders, as demonstrated by a significantly improved 1H25 result.”
Those improved 1H25 results include a 52 per cent increase to normalised EBTIDA ($13.2 million to $20.1 million) and a 14 per cent increase to gross margin ($37.6 million to $43 million).
Total income fell five per cent from $159.4 million to $150.7 million.
“MOVE is an iconic New Zealand business, and I’m privileged to be stepping into the CEO role on a permanent basis,” Millward says.
“While there is still work to be done, we are making good progress.
“I’m looking forward to leading MOVE through its next phase and unlocking sustainable value in our business for our team, our customers and our shareholders.”
The MOVE board has approved a long-term incentive plan for both Millward and MOVE Chief Financial Officer Lee Banks for 1.3 million shares and 560,000 shares respectively, which vest in June 2028.
The long-term incentive plan is designed to further align the interests of senior leadership with shareholders and encourage long-term decision-making and value creation.
