Morris Finance lands Cunningham for transport sales role

HVIA board member adds vast transport executive experience

Morris Finance has announced the appointment of Rod Cunningham as general manager sales – transport and equipment.

Cunningham will specialise in financial solutions to original equipment manufacturers, retail dealerships through to end users, across mobile plant and equipment.

He has more than 20 years in sales and marketing with experience in heavy-duty road transport manufacturing, logistics, import/export, and wholesale and retail distribution, including executive roles at Barker Trailers, Freighter/Maxitrans, Panus, Scania Australia, Jost Australia and Toyota Forklifts.

Cunningham is also a Heavy Vehicle Industry Association (HVIA) board member.

HVIA recently updated its board with John Drake at the helm

“I have always been passionately customer focused and therefore see a distinct alignment with Morris Finance values of excellence in customer service,” he says.

Morris Finance managing director Nathan Murray adds: “We have a very young and vibrant team of employees and Rod’s experience, skills and knowledge will allow us to continue to evolve and grow as a group and will assist in taking the pressure off a number of our key executive team.

“For the past 20 years we haven’t had the luxury of a sales department within the Morris Finance Group – appointing Rod will complement the appointment of David Milsome in June and we are looking forward to working with Rod for many years to come.”
