The lack of a vehicle type approval label on engines has prompted a recall of certain models of Daimler’s Fuso Shogun from 2021 to 2022
Owners of 2021 to 2022 Fuso Shogun models have been encouraged to check with their VIN numbers against recall number REC-005656 to see if they need a visit to their local Daimler Dealer for a sticker upgrade.
A recall notice was issued on April 24 by the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts after it was identified that 525 trucks have been released without a vehicle type approval label affixed to the engines.
The statement reads: “In the absence of the necessary labelling, vehicles may not meet required standards in line with state and territories in Australia.
“This may impact a vehicle inspection or impact the sale of the vehicle. There are no safety hazards.”
The recall affects FP74, FS72, FS76, FV70, and FV74 variants of the Fuso Shogun, in the year range 2021 – 2022.
