Brisbane-based Mincom wins new Defence Force contract to improve military logistics
February 2, 2010
Brisbane-based technology provider Mincom has been awarded a new contract with the Australian Defence Force (ADF) for the design and implementation planning stage to improve military logistics across the entire ADF organisation.
Targeted for the first half of 2011, the project – JP2077 Phase 2B.2 – will provide the ADF with greater visibility across its entire supply chain, according to Mincom General Manager for Defence Bruce Jaquemard.
“There is no room for error when it comes to military logistics,” Jaquemard says.
“With the completion of Phase 2B.2, the ADF will ensure it has the right materials, resources, people and support, in the right place at the right time, to boost operational effectiveness in remote locations where troops are deployed.”
Mincom had previously been awarded Phase 2B.1 of JP2077 in which it provided a fully deployable, fully integrated, tri-services military logistics solution to the ADF, which Jaquemard says will benefit the company greatly in its latest project.
“As the prime contractor for the ADF’s highly strategic logistics and sustainment platform, it is important that Mincom continues to develop solutions that bring new functionality to the ADF,” he says.
“Building on the capabilities that exist in MILIS in JP2077 2B.1 in Australia, and making them available in forward-operating locations, provides significant benefit for the ADF as it will provide unprecedented visibility across the ADF’s supply chain.”
