Mercedes-Benz recalls Sterling trucks

Dodgy indicator lights sparks recall of 117 Sterling HX trucks

May 12, 2011

Mercedes-Benz Australia-Pacific is recalling more than 100 Sterling HX 5,700 trucks due to a non-compliance of the side indicator lights with the current Australian Design Rules.

A total of 117 trucks are affected by the design recall after it was found the front fender-mounted side indicator lights do not meet the ADR requirement for lateral visibility.

The trucks were all built between September 10 and December 23 2007. Mercedes-Benz is asking owners to contact their local dealer, or Mercedes-Benz head office on 03 9566 9380 if the truck has been sold. The company can also be reached at campaigns@daimler.com.
