Daimler Truck has officially commenced handover of the first Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 trucks to the first customers, with the company expecting to hand over around 50 of the battery-electric long-haul trucks to German customers by the end of the year.
Construction on the trucks started at the company’s Wörth plant in Germany’s south-east in November this year. It is expected the majority of the vehicles produced in the first months of construction will be sent to branches and dealers as demonstration vehicles.
The first customers to receive their eActros 600 deliveries by the end of this year are German companies August Gschwander Transport GmbH, Blue Känguru GmbH, Brummer Logistik GmbH, Contargo GmbH & Co. KG, CONTRAIL-Transport GmbH & Co. KG, DENKINGER Internationale Spedition GmbH, Ralf Reyser Transporte & Logistik, SCHADE Logistic GmbH and Wessels Holding GmbH & Co. KG.
“As a 40-tonne truck with a 500km range without the need for immediate charging, the eActros 600 is a real gamechanger for the electrification of long-distance transport,” Head of Marketing, Sales and Services at Mercedes-Benz Trucks Stina Fagerman says.
“The fact we are now handing our first series production vehicles to our customers is a very special milestone for us and our customers in the transformation towards sustainable freight transport.”
Recently, the eActros 600 was named the International Truck of the Year.
