Mercedes-Benz has announced the appointment of a new Australia Pacific CEO, with Jaime Cohen succeeding Florian Seidler.

Cohen spent the past five years as CEO of Mercedes-Benz Mexico while also acting as the head of sales and marketing in Latin America.

From 2015 to 2017, Cohen was Damiler Truck Sales and Services’ managing director for Latin America and was based in Brazil.

He first started with the major vehicle brand in 1987 and has worked across the Mexican, US, German, Brazilian and Colombian markets.

Cohen says he’s delighted to be invited by Merceded-Benz to lead its Australia Pacific operations.

“Every new market brings exciting opportunities but above all, I feel privileged to be working in such an important and successful region for Mercedes-Benz,” Cohen says.

“I’m sure I will draw on my background across diverse markets from North, South and Latin America, as well as in Europe.

“Though I have only just arrived, my key priority is to tap into the great work that the teams in both Mercedes-Benz Australia and New Zealand are already doing and utilise my experience across the wider business to identify opportunities to take that to yet another level.”

Mercedes-Benz in Australia Pacific looks after the brand’s passenger cars and vans, with Mercedes-Benz trucks being distributed by Daimler Truck.
