Menzies Aviation is looking to secure its position as a key provider at the under-construction Western Sydney Airport by partnering with AvLogix Solutions as its cargo terminal planning and design consultant.
Western Sydney Airport is set to become a key east coast airfreight hub when it opens in 2026 and offer 24/7 cargo operations.
The partnership, which will incorporate best-in-class material handling solutions and new facility layouts is part of Menzies’ plan to support the new airport’s vital role as part of Australia’s wider supply chain and logistics infrastructure.

The Western Sydney cargo precinct, of which the airport will be a key pillar, is estimated to contribute over $9 billion to Australia’s economy by the 2050s and will become a cornerstone of the nation’s multimodal logistics capabilities.
The cargo precinct’s strategic location and proximity to both Australia’s east coast, Western Sydney’s growing industrial, manufacturing and farming hubs is set to allow Australian exporters across a variety of sectors to become more competitive on the world stage.
Menzies Aviation will operate a 22,500sqm facility for the next 20 years and will specialise in handling pharmaceutical and cool chain products, e-commerce and heavy cargo from a 12,500sqm warehouse.
“We’re looking forward to 2026, when this state-of-the-art cargo facility will open as part of the new Western Sydney International Airport,” Head of Global Cargo, Menzies Aviation Beau Paine says.
“This operation will enable us to deliver first-class, interconnected cargo services at both of Sydney’s international airports, expanding our service offering to our airline and freighter customers.
“We’re excited to increase our footprint in Australia and support the country’s thriving air cargo sector.”
AvLogix has been instrumental in designing a platform that will meet Menzies’ immediate demands upon the airport’s opening in 2026 but will also allow for future scalability and increased flexibility ahead of the anticipated cargo volume growth in the coming decades.
The current collaboration between the two companies has been ongoing for the past two years. The Menzies facility is estimated to be set to handle in excess of 150,000 tonnes of cargo annually.
