MaxiParts expands new retail chain

Offshoot of trailer builder MaxiTrans to open a new store in Mackay

August 6, 2013

Australian truck and trailer parts supplier MaxiParts will open a new store in Mackay as part of its expansion plans.

MaxiParts was launched in May when parent company MaxiTrans combined its three parts chains, known as Colrain, Queensland Diesel Spares and Gladstone Air Cleaner Services.

MaxiParts says the new entity is an attempt to provide customers with easier access nationwide to its range of truck and trailer parts. There are already 16 retail stores in four states.

“Mackay is a key supply point for a majority of central Queensland,” General Manager Peter Loimarantae says.

“It has significant transport, agricultural and mining markets which all require local access to products such as our range of truck and trailer parts, tools and accessories.”

The company says the Mackay store is expected to be open by November, and Loimarantae has hinted it is a sign of things to come.

“We certainly intend this expansion to be the start, not the end of the process,” he says.
