Marschall appointed to ATA Industry Technical Council

Marschall Group director brings three decades of experience to role

The Australian Trucking Association (ATA) has enlisted Marschall Group director Michael Marschall to its Industry Technical Council (ITC).

Marschall has more than three decades’ experience at the Goondiwindi-based haulage and equipment company in Queensland that also comprises Mann’s transport and hire businesses.

In 1970, the Marschall family established and maintained a bulk tipper fleet to service local Goondiwindi and Northern NSW farmers, ATA notes.

In 1986, the Marschalls acquired Mann’s, which had started operation in early 1950 concentrating on general freight and local haulage.

The business operates B-double, PBS road trains and triple combinations. The fleet also includes mobile cranes from three-tonne to 200-tonne capacity.

As a member of the ITC, Marschall will join operators, suppliers, engineers and industry specialists in a long-term discussion forum to raise technology and maintenance standards and improve operational safety in the trucking industry, the ATA says.

The ITC makes technical recommendations to the ATA’s general council, policy committees, and the secretariat.

ITC members may also be nominated to represent the ATA and the trucking industry on government and Standards Australia technical committees.
