A recall notice has been issued by Daimler Truck Australia for 31 units of the Mercedes-Benz Unimog UHE and FGA variants in the year range from 2022 to 2023.
Due to a manufacturing defect, the steering gear’s bearing bushing may become detached from the steering assembly which may cause a sudden loss of steering control while driving.
This defect can increase the risk of an accident, causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.
Daimler Truck will contact owners of affected vehicles, asking them to book an appointment with their authorised dealer to have the rectification carried out, free of charge.
