Mageba bearings to build Bunbury Ring Road project

Mageba says the contract is a dream opportunity to help construct the major freight route

Mageba Australia says it is supplying its custom-made bridge bearings to seven bridges in the $1.25 billion Bunbury Outer Ring Road project in Western Australia.

As the largest transport infrastructure project of its kind undertaken in this region, Mageba says it is thrilled to be making its contribution to it with this $1.5million contract.

Mageba General Manager Virendra Ghodke says the contract is the company’s catalogue project, with almost every product in Mageba’s catalogue being supplied for the build.

“We have been working towards this contract for the past three and a half years and we’re thrilled to be manufacturing the products locally,” he says.

“We designed high performance POT bearings, expansion joints with unlimited fatigue resistance and a number of other technologically advanced solutions for this project.

“We anticipate the Main Roads Western Australia maintenance team will save a lot of time and money by using our engineered products that lead to significantly less, or often no maintenance.”

Also of note is that Mageba will be presenting two papers at the upcoming  Austroads Bridge Conference in Adelaide in November 2022.
