Vehicle group acquires Fleetsu

The vehicle group has bought the Australian supply chain technology platform

Connected vehicle space company Rand McNally has acquired Australian-based Fleetsu and its flexible supply chain platform.

Originally bought by Teleo Capital, Rand McNally has bought Fleetsu to combine fleet organisations as part of its wish to significantly increase investment in best-in-class solutions for the transport industry.

The deal allows Rand McNally’s fleet business to combine with Fleetsu’s platform, data and analytics abilities to form a global enterprise that brings solutions to vehicle fleets globally.

Fleetsu is only seven years old yet has secured many major global truck and automotive OEM contracts including Toyota Motor Corporation in Australia, as its platform is viewed as a best-in-class vehicle and truck solution for fleets.

The new combination with Rand McNally will help fleet operators maximise business productivity and efficiency through access to real-time, on-the-road data that provides valuable insights into solving challenges like driver location and safety, engine performance and vehicle efficiency.

Rand McNally says this move will help the company to continue delivering products and services that improve fleet and driver efficiency, safety and security.

“Fleetsu takes our existing expertise to the next level as we now offer the industry’s best connected fleet platform complementing our hardware, navigation, logistics and publishing businesses,” Rand McNally CEO Aaron Dannenbring says.

With market research suggesting the global fleet management market is experiencing unprecedented growth, the timing is right for Rand McNally and Fleetsu to combine.

Teleo says its move to acquire Fleetsu is an exciting step in Rand McNally’s transformation of its fleet.

“Fleetsu’s cutting edge platform, analytics and data capabilities will allow Rand McNally to offer a connected vehicle solution across the full fleet supply chain,” Teleo capital operating partner Joseph Roark says.

“The acquisition further expands Rand McNally’s footprint as a global provider to long-haul and local fleets, field service companies, government, auto and truck OEMs.”

Fleetsu founder Jakub Felinski says the new venture into driving solutions for Rand McNally will help both companies’ reputations thrive.

“We look forward to expanding our combined global business that writes a new chapter for connected transportation, led by technology,” he says.
