Qube Energy nails triple treat Chevron deal

Supply-base services contract for northern and southern WA

Qube Energy has hailed a long-term contract with Chevron Australia for the provision of supply base services in Karratha, Onslow and Perth.

The deal, for an undisclosed sum, is to include “significant investment” in new technologies and systems in Western Australia.

It is expected to leverage synergies from the facilities’ assets and provide the broader oil and gas industry “with exciting new operational options”.

“Qube’s diversified experience in complete supply chain and logistics services in the oil and gas market ensured that Qube was best placed to deliver Chevron Australia with a truly integrated operational solution, incorporating high safety standards that aligned with Chevron’s best practice requirements,” the company said.

The services include:

  • facility leasing and management
  • cross-dock, pack, consolidate, dispatch, staging, loadout and transport
  • inventory material management
  • warehouse and yard storage; quarantine management, fuel distribution at Wheatstone Downstream
  • other ad-hoc services.

As part of the contract, Qube will assume operational management of the existing Chevron facilities in Gap Ridge, Karratha, and Hazelmere, Perth, and operate these as multi-share facilities with Qube’s other key clients, as well as continuing to service Chevron’s requirements.

“This arrangement will provide significant advantages to Chevron and Qube’s other oil and gas clients through the creation of value, incorporating numerous synergies and efficiencies that will be gained by implementing industry best practice services and technologies,” Qube said.

“Both the Gap Ridge and Hazelmere facilities are modern and fit-for-purpose supply bases that Chevron developed specifically to their high standards, and Qube’s clients can now take advantage of these facilities in these key strategic locations.”
