Winning launches new facilities in Altona and Auckland

Retail group’s logistics arm hails largest-ever DC in Victoria

Winning Group has launched two distribution centres for its logistics arm, Winning Services, in Australia and New Zealand.

The DC at Altona North, Victoria, is 45,000 square metres, 35,000 sq m larger than the group’s previous DC, and has 55 loading docks, up from eight.

The 6,000 sq m Auckland facility at Waitemata Ports aims to reduce “middle-mile” logistics costs and decrease supply chain lead times for third party logistics partners.

With 18 loading docks, the DC will service the greater Auckland area.

“With some of the highest Net Promoter Scores in the world for logistics, Winning Services is a leader in big and bulky warehousing and end mile customer experience,” Winning Group CEO Ryan Fritsch says.

“Logistics has been at the core of the group’s success and we are incredibly proud to launch Winning Services in New Zealand, our first market outside of Australia and launch our largest DC in the group’s history, in Victoria.

“Both DCs will help to continue the group’s solid double-digit growth and provide our customers and 3PL partners in Australia and New Zealand, with our legendary care and exceptional service.”

The company also pays tribute to its building and construction partners Aliro, ISPT and Qanstruct, while celebrating the operational gains.

“Our new Winning Services DCs uniquely allow us to provide free next day delivery to Victorians and completely mitigate middle mile logistics costs in Auckland for big and bulky retailers,” MD Mick Bunt said.

“Our Auckland DC is ideally located within the port, allowing us to de-stuff stock, including MPI clearance, coming into the Ports of Auckland, store, dispatch and deliver stock straight to Auckland based customers.

“We are also servicing delivery outside greater Auckland, by facilitating the dispatch of goods ready for line haul.

“We are currently providing 3PL services for a leading furniture retailer and we look forward to building our Winning Services logistics network and working with big and bulky retailers in New Zealand.

“Our world-class Altona North DC, was purpose-built over the past 12 months.

“Its location has been carefully chosen to ensure that our Victorian customers and third party logistics partners continue to receive our industry-leading, free next day delivery through our own fleet of trucks.”
