TM Insight lures former Toll heavy hitter

Carmont swaps top group sales position for new business development role

Consultancy TM Insight has pulled off a recruitment coup, landing ex-Toll global head of sales and business development Marcus Carmont.

Carmont takes up a new position within the supply chain and industrial property advisory firm, that of executive director of business development.

TM Insight says the recruitment will “strengthen the business’ leadership team and the organisation’s ability to provide customer-led supply chain solutions across Australia, New Zealand and throughout South-East Asia”.

Carmont will work alongside chief customer officer Nathan Bingham and other senior directors to deliver on TM Insight’s strategy to design and deliver world-class supply chain, property and project management solutions that position their clients as clear industry leaders.

“In the last year, we have seen significant growth in our business, as logistics and supply chains become more important than ever throughout the region,” an excited Bingham says.

“It’s humbling that we can attract the level of talent to our business that Marcus brings.

“Our goal has always been to provide our clients with an unmatched level of expertise and experience so we can deliver outcomes that provide them with a clear competitive advantage.

“Marcus is one of the industry’s eminent experts who can help our clients design and execute leading-edge supply chains and property solutions.”

Carmont is the second Toll business development director to make a move in TM Insight’s direction, with Dominic Rego recruited to be MD of TM Insight Asia two years ago, though he left last September.

Carmont brings more than 20 years of international supply chain experience, having held senior management positions at Toll Group and CEVA Logistics.

At his most recently held role at Toll Group, Carmont led the sales and new business for Toll Group’s global logistics business.

TM Insight notes he worked with a “vast array” of global brands, such as Kimberly-Clark, Pernod, Asahi and Lindt, in optimising their supply chain strategies across North America, Asia including China, Australia and New Zealand.

“Without doubt, the current environment is forcing many leading organisations to rethink their supply chain strategies and rework their complex systems so they can be agile in responding to significant shifts in the market,” Carmont says.

“I’m incredibly excited and looking forward to utilising my experience to continue to deliver on customer-led solutions to support TM Insight’s current and future customers in creating optimised, resilient and flexible supply chains.

“I’ve watched with great interest the significant growth of TM Insight’s brand over the last 10 years and I look forward to now being a part of the next era of supply chain transformations for TM Insight’s clients.”

Carmont will be based in the Melbourne office.
