Tomic appointed to SCLAA board

Executive arrives with 20 years’ experience in freight and logistics

 

The Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Australia (SCLAA) has announced Sue Tomic as a new independent director, serving as a secretary and treasurer on its board.

She joins after more than 20 years’ experience in strategy and operations, finance and operational management advisory and has provided professional services to the retail, IT, automotive, intermodal freight and logistics industries.

Tomic is currently general manager of DP World Logistics and is the founder and lead consultant of Chain Consulting Services.

“With a strong management consulting background and exposure to underperforming businesses, turnaround and accelerated transformation situations and previous experience working for and consulting to companies on matters of financial performance, financial management and operational improvement that achieve sustainable value add, Sue has resumed her professional services practice,” SCLAA chair Amanda O’Brien says.

“Sue fell into the logistics industry by accident 10 years ago, having held the position of CFO and interim CEO of Maritime Container Services, the largest privately owned intermodal terminal operator in Australia.

“Her knowledge of the containerized freight sector (road and rail) and all its associated challenges for the movement of IMEX products –both rural and local has led to a passion of being an ambassador for change to reduce costly inefficiencies.”

“Sue has a strong network of operator/owners and contacts and looks forward to fostering collaboration across key stakeholders in the Containerised freight transport and logistics sector from paddock to port (or port to DC).”

Tomic holds a Bachelor degree in accounting and management, and is also a member of Australian Institute of Company Directors.
